Sense of Belonging and Career Success Among HODs in Public Universities
Research on career success is among the popular research in human resource management particularly in organizational behavior. The current research adds to its popularity with significant input. One of its distinctive aspects concerns the role of belonging in explaining some motivation factors that predict managers' career success. The scope of study which focuses on the academic Heads of Department, namely the deans, directors, and chairpersons in faculties, centers, and institutes respectively are what make this study unique. In relation to the second aspect, the uses of social influence theory, social cognitive career theory and work adjustment theory as the common underpinning theories to support the research framework will further highlight the importance of this study. Perhaps, the findings on the performance of the predictors chosen and the preferred outcome, or types of career success are significant. However, to the researcher, finding how sense of belonging has inspired HODs to increase their organizational success as well as career success is yet to be tested. Meanwhile, the researcher is also looking at how HODs gain and use their influence to ensure the preferred outcomes. {Thank you for reading my brief summary, of introduction.
