Managerial Definition of Talented People
The managerial definition of talent is that talent is a person who delivers a superior performance (Robertson & Abbey, 2003). It is defined in terms of outcomes, delivering the goods, getting the job done better than others. Better means doing a work more quickly, more reliably, and more effectively. Once you are labeled talented, managers have put much expectation on you. Thus, talent is also about expectation. To conclude, the definition of talent in managerial perspective is those persons who are expected to deliver a superior performance on time, reliable, and efficient.
