My Words: Transparency in Career Progression

The Awareness on Transparency
Along with the fast wave of globalization, emerged a new pool of leaders as well. At the same time, people become more alert and better informed with what is happening around them. According to Nixon (2008, p.100), “globalization means that the unfamiliar and strange are everywhere no longer world apart, but part of our world of difference. The unfamiliar of strange, is now local, next door, round the corner, on the street.” Even though globalization spurs fast process from decision to action, people are no longer ignorance. People pay detail attention on transparency aspect of the process from decision to action. In fact, there is an increase of global awareness on transparency. The changing administration of major countries around the world also shows the highly emphasis on the transparency of government administration which was announced as the primary move by the leaders immediately after their inauguration (Obama, 2010; Cameron, 2010; Abdul Razak, 2010). This is an examplary act by the government for each of its agency, as well as the public universities, to abide by. The urgency to embed transparency in administration is merely to ensure that there is a prolong trust of the people towards the government in which the public universities are also held accountable for.
