My Words: The Power to Connect

I am still reading a book entitled "Connect - Building Success Through People, Purpose, and Performance" written by Keith Harrell and Hattie Hill. The main title "Connect" really connects me to buy this book. I want to know further about this simple word. On page seven, the authors defined connect as to "to feel and/or create a strong, positive relationship with someone (an individual or group) or something (an idea, an institution, a cause, a mission, and so on). The ultimate result of this relationship should be uplifting both for the individual and for others." In short, connect means to bind or fasten together to somebody or something. In order to get connected, one need to ensure these following three elements are there;
1) Emotional link
2) A strong feeling
3) Positive, uplifting relationship

Can you imagine how life is going to be, if there is no standard and accepted forms of communication? The immediate situation that I can visualize is the chaotic event of ordinary life. People will eventually see what others are doing are for their mutual benefit. Everything seems to be for individual interest only. Most of the time people engage in surface acting behavior and there is a tendency of social loafing in group activities. In short, people actually don’t care on good interpersonal communication.
